TikToker goes viral for teaching Jason Derulo new dance moves in Kid Laroi’s “Stay” meme

Kid Laroi’s song “Stay” has become a huge hit on TikTok, sparking a viral trend that has users across the app swinging their hips to the beat – and now even Jason Derulo has jumped on the bandwagon.

The Kid Laroi is a promising artist who is receiving a lot of critical acclaim these days. The ‘Without You’ singer has taken the radio waves with his new album, ‘F ** K LOVE’, and has even signed a major feature film with Justin Bieber.

Their song “Stay” also took TikTok by storm, sparking a humorous trend that was first started by user “maxtaylorlifts”. The viral clip shows the TikToker arguably wondering why people love the track so much before finally giving in to the hype and rocking his groove thing.

While Max Taylor was the one who started the viral meme, TikToker ‘ToTouchAnEmu’ really took off with dancing.

He created several videos using the song which garnered millions of views each – the first of which shows him rocking Taylor’s movements while wearing a pair of aviator goggles, as his drone captures some pretty impressive photos behind his apartment complex.

In fact, Emu has become so popular that the one and only Jason Derulo contacted him via Instagram, sending him a “Come Through” message.

Emu’s video of their meeting shows the two jumping on Derulo’s rooftop before embarking on the iconic Max Taylor dance – and the internet is loving it.

The TikTok officially went viral, managing to score 1.5 million views in the first hour it was published. As of this writing, Emu’s download now has 2.3 million views (with a warning to viewers to avoid jumping onto their own rooftops to film a TikTok trend, of course).

Jason Derulo isn’t the only celebrity hitting the bandwagon; Dr Phil also went viral for breaking it down into a song, and even The Kid Laroi himself jumped in on the fun. Bella Poarch also took a step forward alongside Emu in a TikTok that gained over 109 million views and it continues!

It’s safe to say that Laroi’s meme is here to ‘stay’ – and it’s unclear where TikTok will take the trend next.
