REVIEW: Lamplight Lounge’s Valentine Cocktail Flight is our sweetheart at Disney California Adventure

It is the season of love here at Disney California Adventure, and the Lamplight Lounge is obliging with a new cocktail flight featuring three specialty seasonal drinks available this weekend only! So naturally, we headed to Pixar Pier to try these three lovely libations for ourselves.

Valentine’s Cocktail Flight – $20

All three drinks are available individually for $17.25 each or in smaller tasting sizes as a set for $20. We of course chose the latter, which we felt was a great advantage for all three. But we will come back to this later.

Love that lasts a lifetime

Bacardi Raspberry Rum, St. George Liqueur, Pineapple Juice, Orgeat, Lime Juice and Raspberry Puree

Our first option was very sweet. With so many fruit flavors, it all kind of blends together. Honestly, the best way to describe this flavor is simply purple. It’s just how the cocktail appears, and no flavor really stands out. That being said, it’s light, sweet, and refreshing, so it’s not that bad after all. The pineapple heart filling was a nice added touch.

The flame

Bacardi Raspberry Rum, Peach Schnapps, Mango and Raspberry Puree with Lime Juice and Firewater Bitters

It’s definitely the best of the three. With a spicy Tajin rimmed glass, it provides a little kick of heat to emphasize the sweet, almost gummy flavor of the red drink. Again, lots of fruit flavors blend into one, but that hint of spice from the edge really sets it apart.

The EX

Absolut Lemon, Lemonade, Blackberries, Agave and Angustora Bitters

We’ve probably never loved one of our exes so much. It’s slightly sour and bitter, but with a sweet undertone to balance it all out. It is a very complex drink that is guessing and unfolds like a love letter with every sip. It’s sour but not too sour, just enough to complement the sweetness of the lemonade and agave, which rounds out the drink. We also really enjoyed this one.

Being a cocktail flight, it is three small servings of specialty cocktails rather than one full size serving. Frankly, we think it’s better not only because you can try everything, but having a tall glass of any of these flavors would almost be too much. They’re perfectly sized cocktails when served in-flight, and offer enough variety that you never get too used to one flavor before moving on.

If you want to try them out for yourself, stop by the Lamplight Lounge before February 14, they’re only available this weekend, so hurry! And let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
