He also pointed out that this cooperative momentum has been created through high-level personnel exchanges such as visits by the Korean President, the Speaker of the National Assembly and the Minister of Defense to Egypt as well as ongoing interactions. in various fields.

Ambassador Hong affirmed that Korea will continue to strengthen bilateral relations with Egypt in all areas, including science and technology, infrastructure, trade, investment and, above all, people-to-people exchanges. .

He told Daily News Egypt that until several years ago it was not easy to imagine Korean Air Force planes flying over the pyramids. However, today eight Black Eagles performed an aerobatic display in cooperation with Silver Stars over the beautiful lands of Egypt. As the case proves, military cooperation between two countries can take a big step at any time.

Hong said Korea’s participation in EDEX 2021 and high-level personnel exchanges have given impetus to defense industrial cooperation between the two countries.

“Korea has developed advanced defense technologies and is capable of manufacturing a variety of high-tech defense equipment. Besides the K-9 howitzer, which we agreed to jointly manufacture here in Egypt last February, Korea is also trying to supply T-50 attack trainers, K2 Black Panther tanks, etc. in the form of joint production. It is not easy to predict which equipment will be next to exist in Egypt, but Korea will endeavor to remain a reliable partner of Egypt’s defense industry at all times,” he said. declared.
