ATLANTA, Ga. (CBS46) – Delta Air Lines announced that it will allow customers to make free changes to flights before the upcoming holiday weekend.
The Atlanta-based airline announced on Tuesday that it will issue a system-wide fare difference travel waiver from July 1-4, which allows customers to rebook travel before or after the days of potentially difficult weekend trip as long as customers are traveling between the same origin and destination.
Customers can make changes free of charge via My Trip or the Fly Delta app.
The move comes as hundreds of Delta Air Lines pilots will picket this week. They are asking for a raise in salary and changes in hours.
A delta spokesperson said the company and the pilots began contract talks earlier this year after talks stalled for two years during the pandemic.
The protest is scheduled for Thursday — just before the busy Fourth of July holiday — at airports across the country, including Atlanta.
Delta says picketing will not impact flights.
