Betty White once said she wished she “didn’t have two bad marriages”

Betty White has had many roles in movies and TV shows throughout her life. But she also took on the role of wife three times. However, she once revealed that she wishes she didn’t have two bad marriages in her life.

White first married in 1945 to United States Air Force aircraft pilot Dick Barker and divorced that year. She then married actor Lane Allen in 1947 and divorced again in 1949.

She found lasting love with her third husband, Allen Ludden. But she didn’t jump at the chance to marry him.

The third time was the TV star charm. But she admitted to having some regrets about her first two marriages and revealed her only wish.

“To bring Allen [Ludden] back, ”she told New You magazine via The Daily Mail in 2014.“ And I wish I hadn’t had two bad marriages. They were probably my fault. She then said, “I had a great relationship, but nothing in Allen’s league.”

White claimed that she did not marry the “righteous men” in the beginning. She joked that if other women want to be cougars, “it’s okay” as an animal lover. But she admitted that she would feel too “insecure” about dating a younger man because she would continue to age and he would stay the same.

White lived a long life after the death of her husband. But she revealed that she had lost interest in the wedding.

“Once you’ve had the best, who needs the rest?” She told the Daily Mail. “I made two mistakes before Allen, but the love of your life doesn’t show up in all lives, so I’m so thankful I found it.”

The actor also said that she doesn’t regret not having children because she wants to work. Her first television role was in 1949 on Hollywood on Television. Her last role was to voice Bitey White on Forky Asks a Question in 2019. She passed away on December 31, 2021 and has three stepchildren from her marriage to Ludden.
