Aviator provides ground handling services for the First Flyr flight

Earlier this year, the Aviator Airport Alliance, a full-service provider of aviation services to 15 airports in the Nordic countries and a family member of the Avia Solutions Group, signed a partnership agreement with a new Norwegian airline Flyr for the services of ground handling. Now the airline has made their first flight and Aviator has been there to provide top quality ground support services to them after landing.

The brand new modern airline Flyr made its first passenger flight on June 30 from Oslo to Tromsø. After landing at Tromsø Airport, Aviator provided airlines with de-icing, passenger and runway services.

Jo Alex Tanem, CEO of Aviator Airport Alliance, who was on board the first Flyr flight, commented on this historic moment for the new airline and Aviator: “We are incredibly proud to be the Flyr partner and we are delighted to ‘to have been able to assist them in their very first flight. The first flight to Tromsø was looked after very well by our qualified colleagues, and from there it will be an exciting journey with Flyr at all of our airports.

Bjørn Erik Barman-Jenssen, Director of Ground Operations at Flyr, said of the flight and the partnership: “We are delighted that our first flight was a success. We are extremely grateful to Aviator for their professional work at Tromsø Airport. I look forward to working with Aviator to further develop this partnership and create a new standard for a friendly airport experience. “

As part of this partnership, the Aviator Airport Alliance will provide Flyr with full passenger and runway assistance services, including de-icing, at all Norwegian airports where Aviator operates and where Flyr has chosen as a destination: Bergen, Trondheim, Stavanger, Tromsø and Bodø.
